EWF Disk mode not visible in WES7 ICE RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to create a WES7 answer file with the WES7 that my company has purchased. I want the EWF Disk mode enabled in the answer file. However, I can only see the RAM and RAMReg modes visible in 'EwfMode' option, as can be seen in the attached image. Does this mean my WES7 package is not enabled for EWF Disk? If this is not the case, how can I choose it?

After I installed windows 7 embedded on the target machine, the EwfManager gets install I think but when I type the command "Ewfmgr" in command prompt, it says "Unable to find an Ewf volume". I looked but there's no option to create a Ewf enabled drive anywhere on the installed windows. I have created an empty separate partition specifically for this purpose but I'm not sure how to activate it. I checked MSDN documentation but there are no detailed steps that helped me in this regard.

    Thanks in advance

  • DISK overlay was dropped in WES7.

RAM overlay requires some empty space on the drive to setup EWF. RAM REG doesn't require the empty space.

I recommend using FWBF rather than EWF. FBWF allows you to add protection in the image, where with EWF you have to go back to ICE to setup everything.
