  • Hi,

    I am writing a kmdf driver.I would like to know how to make the driver as boot start driver.

    I verified by changing the StartType  = 1 and also 0 in the inf file.The driver got installed.Please let me know what more changes are required.

  • A couple of questions, what Windows version is this, and does the device have hardware associated with it?  Starting with Windows 8 if the driver does not aquire hardware at boot time, the system overrides your boot start setting.  If your environment is pre-Win8 or you have hardware, then your changes should be all that are needed in the INF.  Assuming 64-bit you need to sign the binary not the cat file.
