WebClient Class of System.Net namespace and WCF RRS feed

  • Question

  • I made a program which calls server's php program to get some result through WebClient class of System,Net namespace.

Which MS technology the WebClient class belong to.

Can I say it belong to WCF?

(I have no knowledge in WCF)

I'm not a web-base programmer, so wondering about it.

If it's not, does it belong to REST API?

I want to know the relationship among WebClient, REST API and WCF.

Answers

  • WebClient is just a utility class.  WCF and the REST APIs are both server technologies, not client technologies.
