Disabling guest account in sql server 2008 RRS feed

  • I am having SQL SERVER 2008 failover cluster and replication . Our security need me to disable the guest account for user connectivity in the system and user databases.Will doing this effect SQL Server Regular operation ?

  • For user databases go ahead and disable the guest user. If someone loses rights because of this, then their rights should be granted through some other access.

    You cannot disable the 'guest' user for master and tempdb since that access is necessary for a connection to be able to use resources in those two databases.
