xbootmgr.exe returns "no valid win32-application" RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi I've installed the WPT on my XP-PC (SP3).
    I got the MSI-paket from my WIN7-PC (64Bit) from the path "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0\Bin\wpt_x86.msi".

After the installation on the XP-PC, the xbootmgr.exe is missing, so I copied the files "xbootmgr.exe" and "perfctrl.dll" from my WIN7-PC

I I try to run the xbootmgr.exe on the XP-CP, Windows-XP returns "xbootmgr.exe ist keine zulässige WIN32-Anwendung" (english: xbootmgr.exe is no valid win32-application

Is there an other way to get runable files for the xbootmgr?

  • OK, my assumption was right.

    I tried to use a xbootmgr.exe from a 64bit-System.
As I used the file from a 32bit-System, everything works fine

  • maybe there are two versions of the xbootmgr.exe: 32bit and 64bit?

If yes, how to get the 32bit-version?
