    Hi all,

I need to train some of collegues in vb.net. Ideally i would like to have a book that approaches it from the visual studio angle, I have heard that unleashed is very good but closer inspection shows me that they do all there code examples as inline. I really want to focus on the code behind and dll model.

     Anyone have any suggestions?

     Many Thanks

    Ashley

In my opinion, only two publishers are worth buying books from: MS Press and Wrox. Both are to be taken with a grain of salt, as they will occasionally have poor code, but for the most part they produce very solid books.

That one is for ASP.NET 1.x and Visual Studio .NET 2003, so be careful.  If you want the latest and greatest (and you really should), that won't cut it for you.  To learn ASP.NET 2.0 you might consider ASP.NET Unleashed, 2nd Edition.  For Visual Studio 2005, you might consider an MSPress book which prepares you for a certification exam, such as MCPD Self-Paced Training Kit (Exam 70-547): Designing and Developing Web-Based Applications Using the Microsoft® .NET Framework (but that one won't be out until January 2007).
