[UWA] MapCamera altitude limited to 10000m problem. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

The altitude value of the ActualCamera of the MapControl is currently limited to 10000 m even if the camera is actually higher than 10000 m.

Do you know a formula to compute the altitude from the zoomLevel or anything else to override that limitation?

I need the real altitude over 10000 m as I use math based on the camera viewprojection matrix and it become wrong above 10000 m.

    Thank you.

  • This looks like a bug with the reported value, but only appears to happen in Road mode. Altitude values look correct in aerial3D.

  • Thank you,

I'll take a look at Aerial3D mode, and try to enable/disable features if 3D mode is active or not.

    That's better than nothing ;)

Edited: Just tried 3D mode on my Lumia 635 and camera.Location.Position.Altitude still clamped to 10000 meters :( moreover the terrain is flat so I think the 3D mode is not working, even if Is3DSupported is true.

On my desktop, the 3D work and the camera altitude is working over 10000 meters :) and the MapHolding Location has a valid altitude. Thanks again for the trick!
