powerpivot zombies - all gray outlines RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hi,  I've just installed Powerpivot x64-- a bit of a machination uninstalling Excel x32 for x64, but PP installed cleanly.  It now appears appropriately in its Excel roost but when I click it to launch a window, I'm confronted with a ribbon of grayed-out pp tabs, i.e., the living-dead metaphor.  I don't see any problems with the usual suspects of add-ins or coms.  I'm running Win7x64 and Office x64, no betas. I was intending to just use the app for Excel tables or Access, so I don't have any SQL or OLAP cubism on my system.  Should I?  Does Powerpivot need companionship?  It's obviously pineing for something it can't do alone.  Suggestions?
