Can we implement what current http://www.bing.com/maps have using Bing Map AJAX V7.0? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have following questions regarding Bing Map AJAX V7.0:

    1. Can we implement route functionality which provides dragging of the route using mouse?
    2. Can we drag pushpin(i.e. waypoints) on the routes & can change the order of route like present in current http://www.bing.com/maps?
    3. Like in http://www.bing.com/maps can we right click on map anywhere & provide the option to add route which extends route up to that clicked point on the map.

  • The consumer-facing website at http://www.bing.com/maps is basically just running a version of the Bing Maps API that's been customised with a few additional features. So, yes you can implement any of the things that you see there in your own site. However, they're not necessarily available in the generic API "out-of-the-box" - you'll have to do some coding yourself. (Of course, since it's only javascript, you can always examine the source of the bing site itself if you feel like digging around for ideas...)
