Query table overview

    Question

  • Using Azure Storage REST services, is it possible in Azure Table Storage to query for these two usecases:

"Give me all PartitionKeys in the table"

"Count number of rows for a given partitionkey"

Brut force (i.e. get all content of the table and analyze the result myself) is not possible since I have millions of rows in my table and there is a limit of 1000 rows in one entity query in Azure Storage REST API.

  • Hi,

    Thanks for posting here!

Please refer the answers in the below link to generate a list of all the partition keys in a table.

As for the second query you must fetch all the entities in a partition to know the number of entities present in it. You can use the Query Projection technique to retrieve only the Partition Key as it suits this requirement. Click here to find more details on this.
