Upgrade Dev licence from Standard to Enterprise error

inherited a dev farm with Standard 2010 licence (checked in the registry and found Standard in addition to Office Web app and Foundation licences ), and am trying to upgrade from Standard to Enterprise in CA - Upgrade and migration -enable Enterprise Features (select Enterprise and enter my msdn licence for Enterprise 2010) . when check in the ULS get error 257 (the PidKey entered is not valid). any idea why the upgrade from Standard to Enterprise fails?

Hi HDragos,

From the error message, the msdn license for Enterprise 2010 is not valid.

You could upgrade again in central administration to check if it can work.

And you could check if the SharePoint 2010 administration service running under a domain account. For more detailed information, you could refer to the article below.
