LS html and IE10 metro RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    Find below a list of issues I encounter with IE10.

    • IE does not remember the password while the checkbox Remember Me is ticked
    • Each time one touches the screen, the IE bottom bar appears and override the LS bottom bar =>very disturbing!
    • I added the meta msapplication-TileColor and msapplication-TileImage in default.htm but they don't work
    • If one clicks on the tile shortcut of the app, it reopens it in a new tab even if it is already opened. Is there a way to tell IE to reopen the correct tab (the iPhone does that very well because the shortcut is open as an app so not in safari and then the app never opens more than once)?

    Any tip and trick on these would be very much appreciated :-)

  • If no one has a solution, you could try making a PhoneGap app that is a wrapper around your live LightSwitch site. I did one for Android here:

    Create PhoneGap Applications From LightSwitch HTML Client in Minutes

    The directions for Windows 8 are here:

    http://docs.phonegap.com/en/2.2.0/guide_getting-started_windows-8_index.md.html

    Basically you just make a single page that points to your site like:

    <!DOCTYPE HTML>

    <html>

    <head>

        <meta charset="utf-8" />

        <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=10" />

        <meta name="HandheldFriendly" content="true" />

        <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1, minimum-scale=1, maximum-scale=1, user-scalable=no" />

        <meta name="apple-mobile-web-app-capable" content="yes" />

        <title>LightSwitchHelpWebsite</title>

        <script type="text/javascript">

            // Work around viewport sizing issue in IE 10 on Windows Phone 8

            if (navigator.userAgent.match(/IEMobile\/10\.0/)) {

                document.writeln("<style>@-ms-viewport { width: auto!important; }</style>");

            }

        </script>

    </head>

    <body style="margin: 0px; padding:0px; height: 100%; overflow:hidden; ">

    <iframe src="http://blogs.lightswitchhelpwebsite.com/htmlclient/" width="100%" height="100%"></iframe>

    </body>

    </html>
