  • I am trying to find out all the hardcoded ip's and hostnames from the below:

    How to get hardcoded ip's and hostnames from sql agent jobs

    How to get hardcoded ip's and hostnames in sql server replication.

    How to get hardcodes ip's and hostnames in sql server mirrioring

    Also from DDL statements.

    in simple just need to get all the hardcoded ip's and hostnames from sql server where ever it is applicable.

    Please let me know if there is a simple way or script to get all these.

  • Well, those details can be in several different places. You would need a list of what you are looking for to use in scanning these resources.  For example:

    Unencrypted SQL code in each database: sys.sql_modules

    SQL Agent Job steps, could be in: msdb.dbo.sysjobsteps

    SQL Server names: master.sys.servers

    SQL Server Integration Services packages: Could have hardcoded connections in them.  (These are stored as XML and are scannable, to some extent.)
