VS2012 Caching emulator service crash RRS feed

  • If you have upgraded to VS2012 and your caching enumator refuses to start, you may want to check the Application event log for logman.exe warnings. The emulator service tries to run logman passing -cnf 30:00 as argument, which was not compatible with my "Long time" regional settings, casuing logman.exe to spit out a Type Mismatch warning, and the CacheEmulatorService to crash.

    In italy, the default is something like "HH.mm.ss". Changing that to "HH:mm:ss" fixed the problem.
