How to change the default zoom for Outlook messages in the reading panel RRS feed

  • Question

  • The default zoom level of the messages in the Inbox folder is 100%. I can temporarily change its level but as soon as I change to another message, it reverts to 100%. How can I change its default value. I'm also interested to change the default zoom level for when I double click on the message and the it shows in an individual window.

    Thank you,

  • I don't think you can made a custom value stick, but in the Inspector you can change the zoom level programmatically using something like the following:

    Application.ActiveInspector.WordEditor.Windows.Item(1).View.Zoom.Percentage = 200

    Since the reading pane is not exposed by the Outlook Object Model, generaly you cannot adjust the reading pane zoom using OOM.

    If Redemption is an option, you can use something like the following:

    set sExplorer = CreateObject("Redemption.SafeExplorer")
    sExplorer.Item = Application.ActiveExplorer
    set Document = sExplorer.ReadingPane.WordEditor
    Document.Windows.Item(1).View.Zoom.Percentage = 200
