How to escape the equals sign ("=") in a Report Textbox? RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a textbox on a report (LocalMode, VS'05, C#.)

We want to put a string something like

"==== Ahah! ====" (minus the quotes) in the textbox.

When we do anything like that we get:

The Value expression for the textbox ‘textbox13’ contains an error: [BC30201] Expression expected.

I don't understand why the tools are attempting to compile the text in a textbox in the first place, but beyond that...

Is there any way to do this (and I suppose more generrally, escape any characters the tools might otherwise attempt to compile...)???

FWIW I can put an apostrophe (single quote, Basic REM delimiter) in front of the string, but then the tools pass the entire string through apostrophe and all, and that's not what's intended either...
