  • Hi! How can i discover what type of data a program send to a Redmon port?

  • I was wrong to ask here, i'm sorry. the question wanted to be a generic question as the title shows, but i was wrong to write the last post in that way. Thank you anyway.

  • What exactly is a "Redmon port", a kewl local colloquialism to disparage Microsoft?

    If you are writing the driver, then you should know what the data is, looks like, and or smells like. If you aren't writing the driver, then you're mostly in the wrong forum.

    However, what's the end device? If it's a hard drive then I'd lay odds the data is basically blocks using a SAS or SATA protocol. Mostly the "data" then would be binary with the output and input programs knowing what they are handling.
