  • Hi Moiz Mansoor,

Am not familiar with IBM rational performance tester but having had a look at it's marketing blurb it looks a lot closer to HP's Loadrunner than MS Web & Load is it also supports a lot more protocols out of the box than MS Web & Load which only supports http/https out of the box (Though other protocols can still be tested via unit test).  Other than that it's hard to say.

  • Hi Moiz Mansoor,

As my opinion, there are some features about Visual Studio load test:

1). We could use Load Test without many additional skills, which could help us learn faster.

2). Graphs and metrics values displayed during the load testing to help monitor and identify bottlenecks.

3). Provides ability in the reports to run side-by-side reports for comparison between tests and identify application improvements.

4). We could get 20,000 virtual user minutes every month to load test at no extra charge.

5). Reports can be stored in SQL server for persistence and future reference purposes. And we could custom our load test report. And so on.

Some features about IBM Rational Performance Tester please refer to the following link. Such as Advanced analytics, Cloud data services, Open source analytics and so on.

    Sincerely,

    Oscar

  • Thanks Oscar,

The info helped me in better understanding but i was looking for feature/specification wise comparison report/list between the tools which may help in selecting the best tool according to requirement.
