Random sessoin time out on IIS 7 / Win Server 2008 RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a migrated website (.net 2.0) from Win Server 2003 / IIS6  to Windows Server 2008 / IIS 7; after the migration client machines can connet to the site and log in, but they can only browse for 30-60 seconds. We consistently get a timeout error due to session being expired on w3wp.exe .... I have turned off ping enabled on IIS app pool; we have no impersonation and everything in the application event log seems to be normal and connected as expected.

There seems to be another configuration that is causing this session time out. We did not have this issue on IIS 7. Please note that this is NOT a dev envrionment - server is pre-production and clients are regular IE 8 users of the previous system.

    Many thanks in advance.
