How to get the SMTP address of "Guest user" of "Office 365" from Outlook add-in RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am creating an Outlook add-in that gets the SMTP address of the recipient when sending mail.
When "Guest user" of "Office 365" is specified as the destination, the SMTP address of "Guest user" cannot be obtained.

The method of obtaining the SMTP address is implemented referring to the following document.
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office/client-developer/outlook/pia/how-to-get-the-smtp-address-of-the-sender-of-a-mail-item

For "guest user", the value of "olExchangeRemoteUserAddressEntry" can be obtained from the "AddressEntryUserType" property of the "Addressentry" object.
An empty string is returned when the value of the "PrimarySmtpAddress" property of the "ExchangeUser" object is obtained.

Is there a way to get the SMTP address of "Guest user" of "Office 365"?

  • Do you see PR_SMTP_ADDRESS or PR_EMS_AB_PROXY_ADDRESSES properties in OutlookSpy (select the message, click IMessage button, go to the GetRecipientTable tab, double click om the recipient)?
