Scrub embedded video in a storyboard RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I'm working in blend today attempting to match animation created in blend with a video being used for the background. Basically, I have a video I created in another program of a box that moves around the screen, and now in Blend I'd like to animate a text box that stays inside the box.

Should be easy enough, but I can't find a way to make the background video play as I scrub through my storyboard. I can manually set the "position" in the media tab to jump to different spots in the video, but nothing that will scrub the video along with my timeline when I move the playhead in Blend.

Can anyone tell me, is there a way to do this in Blend? Or, if not, does anyone know of a workaround for matching blend animation with imported video from another source?

    Thank you!

  • I can't think of a way to do this offhand. You might be able to write an designer extension that could do this, but I can't imagine that would be worth the effort for a one off project.
