  • Hi Yangj3848,

    >>Also any application installed from store has same issue. LinkedIn, ..<<

    Based on my understanding, there are two secnarios for the mail app. First is reading and the second is compose. In the reading secnario, if the app meets the rule requirment to show, we can see them in the app bar. Then we can use this app by clicking the app button.

    The compose secnario is similar with reading secnario, however the app shows as task pane. Here is two figures for your reference:

    Reading secnario:

    Compose secnario:

    If I misunderstood, please feel free to let me know.

  • Yes, I tried this two scenarios. Even the built-in "my templates" shown your snapshot also shown blank content when click it.

    The default mail app will shown some content based on received email. But in my case, only blank content and it looks like the exchange never called my app running in local machine.

    default.js:

    <pre>

        // 每次加载新页面时均必须运行 Office 初始化函数
        Office.initialize = function (reason) {
            $(document).ready(function () {
                app.initialize();

                displayItemDetails();
            });
        };

        // 根据当前的邮件项显示“主题”和“发件人”字段
        function displayItemDetails() {
            var item = Office.cast.item.toItemRead(Office.context.mailbox.item);
            $('#subject').text(item.subject);

            var from;
            if (item.itemType === Office.MailboxEnums.ItemType.Message) {
                from = Office.cast.item.toMessageRead(item).from;
            } else if (item.itemType === Office.MailboxEnums.ItemType.Appointment) {
                from = Office.cast.item.toAppointmentRead(item).organizer;
            }

            if (from) {
                $('#from').text(from.displayName);
                $('#from').click(function () {
                    app.showNotification(from.displayName, from.emailAddress);
                });
            }
        }
    })();

    </pre>

  • Hi Yangj3848,

    Could this issue reproduced in Outlook client? Which version of IE and Windows are you using?

    Based on my understanding, the OWA is suppoted by IE and Windows from link below:
    Supported browsers for Outlook Web App

    Office Online also hosts apps for Office and requires a browser that supports HTML 5 and JavaScript 5, like:

    • Internet Explorer 9 with at least MS12-037: Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer: June 12, 2012 installed

    You can get more detail about it from link below:
    Supported browsers in Office 2013 and Office 365 ProPlus

    Hope it is helpful.

    Regards & Fei

  • I restart computer and now it works!

    One question. Sharepoint App requires OAuth authentication with sharepoint server. They need be registered in sharepoint server to get client-id & secret. Why Mail app do not require authentication? They are applications running in other web server by other company.

  • Hi Yangj,

    >>Why Mail app do not require authentication? They are applications running in other web server by other company.<<

    What did you mean authentication? Based on my understanding, we need to authorize the apps when we add apps.
