How to add a third party device driver so it loads at runtime? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there,

    I am updating a CE 6.0 image with a 3rd party driver.

    1) Added the dll reference to the Project.bib as follows:

    thirdPartyDriver.dll           $(_FLATRELEASEDIR)\thirdPartyDriver.dll           NK SHK

    2) Appended the registry entries to the Project.reg (provided by the manufacturer)
    3) Imported the files by a Custom Build Action on Pre-Make Image:

    copy “<path for binary>\thirdPartyDriver.dll” “%_FLATRELEASEDIR%\thirdPartyDriver.dll”

    4) Build the image and loaded to my target!

Q1) How do I check if the driver is loaded? I am testing with the Remote Process Viewer vut can't file any reference to the DLL
Q2) If the Driver is not loaded, How can I diagnostic what went wrong?
Q3) Is the entry for the Project.bib correct?

    Thx a lot
