Serializing SqlCommand RRS feed

Answers

  • Unfortunately, there's no easy way of serializing a SqlCommand. For a SqlParameter, serializing it is not trivial because it contains both SqlValue and Value.

It's always possible to add serialization support in future releases of ADO.NET, depending on the feedback we get from our customers.

  • Thanks Bill, I thought that may be the case.  I've done a basic implementation that suits my needs.  I would certainly find it useful if a future release added serialization to the class, and I know that many other people would also, as I've found out in my hunt on the web for information on the subject.  Is there an official channel to send this feedback to, or does this count here?

  • Any news about this? Would be nice if it was implemented.
