Cannot RDP to VM using secondary NIC RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm facing issues to RDP to Azure VM using secondary NIC.

All good when using primary NIC.

    Is this the expected behavior?

Is there any alternative way to RDP using the secondary NIC?

    thanks

  • Can you provide more details?

Primary and Secondary are having Private or Public IP Address?

From where are you trying to RDP to the Azure VM?

  • Hi,

Azure assigns a default gateway to the first (primary) network interface attached to the virtual machine. Azure does not assign a default gateway to additional (secondary) network interfaces attached to a virtual machine. create route add as below article

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/windows/multiple-nics#configure-guest-os-for-multiple-nics

  • Hi Both NICs have private and Public IP's.

I'm trying to RDP VM using my laptop using PIP.

When using primary nic PIP works fine but failing when trying to RDP using secondary NIC PIP.
