Porting an Input Method (IM) to Embedded Compact 7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi!

I try to port an IM to Embedded Compact 7. This IM implements the IInputMethod2 interface and works well under CE 4.1, 5 and 6.

Under Compact 7, I'm able to register the IM by a call to DllRegisterServer(). I can see that all required registry keys are existing under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{My Guid}. Yet, SipEnumIM() just enumerates the default IM (named "Keyboard"). Trying to select my IM with SipSetCurrentIM() fails (GetLastError() returns 87 = ERROR_INVALID_PARAMETER).

Does anyone have an idea about what could be the reason? Do I have to implement the new IInputMethod3 interface? Does my DLL needs to be code-signed?

    Regards, Christian

  • I've found the solution!

Under WEC7, one has to add a key {My Guid}=DWORD:1 under HKLM\ControlPanel\SIP\Installed. Otherwise, the SIP seems to ignore the IM.
