  • See Testing and debugging for information on debugging and testing your app.

You can deploy your appx package to systems with a developer license for testing.

The topic Installing developer packages on Windows RT steps through how to create an appx package and set up a machine for a test deployment. The methods described work on Windows 8 systems without Visual Studio as well as on Windows RT systems.

  • On other devices (the iPad) you can give out free licenses to specific users to enable them to test features or reward assistance etc.

Bringing the Windows App developer experience somewhere near the other platforms would help devs.
