CreateDate in word time gives time difference compare to actual RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    While metadata DSO dll file gives CreateDate in WordFile, we have time difference compare to actual Date it shows in document statics.

    Any idea how this can be happen.

    Like DSO dates are different compare to actual date display in document statics.

    Is there any timezone we preserve in word file which may cause this issue.

    I can not provide file as it has client given file.

    Thanks

    According to your description, I have made a sample to read document bulit-in properties, unfortunately, I can't.
    Sub Demo()

        Documents.Open "D:\DocProperties.docm"
        Debug.Print ActiveDocument.BuiltInDocumentProperties("Creation Date")

    End Sub

    Sub BuiltInProps()

    Dim oSummProps As DSOFile.SummaryProperties
    Dim oCustProp As DSOFile.CustomProperty
    Dim fOpenReadOnly As Boolean
    Dim oDocumentProps As DSOFile.OleDocumentProperties

    Set m_oDocumentProps = New DSOFile.OleDocumentProperties

    m_oDocumentProps.Open "D:\DocProperties.docm", fOpenReadOnly, dsoOptionOpenReadOnlyIfNoWriteAccess

    ' Get the SummaryProperties (these are built-in set)...
    Set oSummProps = m_oDocumentProps.SummaryProperties

    Debug.Print oSummProps.DateCreated

    m_oDocumentProps.Close

    End Sub

    So I suggest that you could provide more information about this issue, for example sample code, screenshot etc., that will help us reproduce and resolve it.

    Thanks for your understanding.

    Sorry, I can't provide my mail ID since forum policy. Does every document file have this issue? I suggest that you could upload your problematic file on OneDrive, then provide this link. It will help us reproduce and resolve your issue.

    Thanks for your understanding.

  • Hi David,

    I did check the same file using DSO demo application provided with DSO file setup.

    Find attached snap having difference of DateTime in actual file property & properties provided by dso.

    I have also mention TimeZone/Machine information.

    In which timezone did you verified above timing ?

    Thanks

    According to your description, I have reproduced this issue. I think that this workaround is that convert times between Time Zones. So I suggest that you could post your question on MSDN forum for Visual Basic

    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/home?forum=vbgeneral

    In addition you could submit any feedback to Word UserVoice:

    Thanks for your understanding.
