MS Access files opens in Read only mode in SharePoint 2007? RRS feed

  • Question

  • unless you save the file locally , its is not allowing to edit the file.

is it normal behavior? because all other office files opens in edit mode.

    do we have any workaround?

    Thanks in advance

  • Hi,

In Central Administration, you can go to Manage Web applications and click on web application general settings and make sure that the option 'Premittive' got selected for Browser File Handling parameter.

Also, instead of opening a access file by clicking on the link in document library, you can click on the Context Menu and click 'Edit File in Microsoft Access' option.

    Hope this helps.

----> the above solution you mentioned is for 2010 , do you have similar solution for 2007?

--> this does not works still opens file in read-only

    Hope this helps.
