I am using Python interpreter as script interpreter in ASP pages for many years.
Moving from Server 2003 to Server 2008 I have problem to run classic ASP pages with Python interpreter on IIS 7. I have the Python scripting engine registered. (Python 2.6, Python for Windows extensions - pywin32-212.win32-py2.6)

    For this simple asp page:
    <%@ LANGUAGE = Python %>
    <%
    Response.Write("Hello")
    %>
I get the error: HTTP/1.1 500 Server Error

    Please help me.

Do you have a sub-status code besides 500 error?  Can you paste the entire error viewed on the local box.  Here are a couple articles I found.

Thank You for Your help. I'm afraid all articles are not about using python in classic ASP pages. I am googling and investigating the problem several days without result. Unfortunately there is not many details about the error.
Using Failed Request Tracing I have only:

    ASP_LOG_ERROR
    LineNumber
    ErrorCode ASP 0147
    Description 500 Server Error

You can see whole FailedReqLogFiles error log: http://timetree.cust.aspone.cz/FailedReqLogFiles/fr000010.xml

Hi Lubas, it is hard to tell what is happening here with the log info you've sent so far. What is the error returned to the browser? Make sure you turn on errors to browser as instructed here: http://blogs.iis.net/bills/archive/2007/05/21/tips-for-classic-asp-developers-on-iis7.aspx and let us know.

    Hi Andrew,

I have tested both classic and integrated with same result. What do you mean by "update python module"? I have it up to date, python is working in general there but not in classic asp pages. Is anybody here experienced with running classic ASP pages using Python interpreter on IIS 7?

    Lubas
