Problem in Notepad RRS feed

  • Question

  • I usually use notepad for typing URLs, numbers and notes. Some times there is a possibility that I may open the same file in two Notepads. I will update some text and save it in first notepad, but after some time I may close the other Notepad by saving that also. I am loosing my important data of first notepad in such scenarios. I am not getting how to come out from this problem?

  • Better you choose a replacement for Notepad, I am using StNotepad, in that it will show a Message if the file has modified outside this editor and it should it update or not. It has more new features like transparency, WordCount, URL Detection etc...

  • Ross,

Even I have gone through similar situations. My sincere advice is to go for StNotepad. As informed by Ignatius, StNotepad shows message as "file has been modified outside this editor". This helped me to come out of regular pain. Other features of StNotepad are also unique and easy to use. I rate 5/5 for StNotepad.

    Regards,
    Pete

  • You could also use a service like Evernote - it syncs to a central server so you can access notes across multiple machines.

  • Hi All,

Newer software StNotepad Touch has released is an enhanced version of StNotepad developed for use on multi-touch devices. StNotepad is a professional text editor that features unique gestures apart from the default built-in gestures. Hand gestures are available for many common functions like Copy, Paste, Cut, Undo, Redo, Backspace and more

An easy and accessible circular menu provides an alternative to regular menus. These menu has been designed with multi-touch devices in mind, to provide intuitive access to common editor functions.

I love to use it on my tablet pc, try it. http://stforms.net/stnotepad-touch/

    thanks
