Font size in different screens RRS feed

  • Question

  • I know there are 4 recommended font sizes in Metro UI. (9, 11, 20 and 42 points)
Guidelines and checklist for text and typography

But it didn't mention this rule applies which pixel density and screen resolution .
I recently read an article about Metro UI scaling to different screens from here and realized there are 3 scale percentages in Win 8.
    They are:
100% (when no scaling is applied)
    140% (for HD tablets)
    180% (for quad-XGA tablets)

Could anyone advise me what's the rule for font size in different screen resolutions?

    Thank you.

  • Font size is already dpi independent (i.e. a 9 point font shoud be the same size regardless of pixel density) so you should stick to using one of the four recommended sizes and everything should look fine.
