    I'm attempting to build a page that contains both Chinese and English content.  I'd like to use place holders for the two content types.  But it seems that my character encoding tag that's necessary (see below) to display the Chinese text correctly is messing up my English text.

       <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=big5">
    </code>

    Does this mean I'm forced into creating a completely different page for my Chinese version?  Is there another way to go about this?
