Design a Data Access Layer using LINQ to SQL RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm working on a project where my .net framework version is 3.5. I want to design a DAL using LINQ to SQL. But as I go I get the feeling that I have made a wrong choice as it's very hard to find information on the topic.

So is LINQ to SQL my best option if I need want the following:

    - Object Relational Mapping

    - Integrated Type Safety

    - Using Linq to Query

Since you want to use the LINQ query and your project targets .NET Framework 3.5, the LINQ to SQL is the one you could use in your provided architecture(if you do not use some other 3rd component, LINQ to SQL is the only one component you could use as far as I remembered, because another component Entity Framework which is also based on the LINQ provider is involved in .NET Framework 3.5 SP1).
