Sharepoint server dismantled - VM Backup

Question
-
Hi All,
We have a situation - our production SP Farm got some issues because of which we dismantled it and tried creating a new farm with same web app, content Dbs, solutions but we are facing many issues in getting everything back as same as previous farm.
We do have VM backups, i am not sure if restoring VM to old date will make things fine? Will everything be fine as it was before Production farm going into a problem. We had 3 server - 1 WFE, 1 APP, 1 SQL Server. Should we restore all 3 servers or just WFE and APP.
Thank you !!

Hi Alok,
You can't use VM snapshots or backups with SharePoint. The best way i could think of restore your farm is from your previous Backup-spfarm. If in case you don't have the backup then you may to go with 3rd party backup or with SQL Backups. Below is the article that explains why it would be a problem with VM Backups:

Hi Alok_Paul,
Agree with sharath's reply.
You can refer to the articles from Microsoft to backup and restore SharePoint farm:
