  • Hi,

don't worry about the process. As long as you don't exactly cross-post and get help in the end, all is well :-)

There seems to be something wrong with the email body. Have you tried a simple text like "Welcome User!" and setting $Email.IsBodyHtml = $false instead of $true in the line before the last?

  • Hi Evgenij and thank you for your answer.

As you proposed, I replaced the lines 45 and 46 as following :

    $EMail.Body= $tempmsg
    $Email.IsBodyHtml = $true

    become :

    $EMail.Body= "Hello World !!!"
    $Email.IsBodyHtml = $false

    But the issue still exists.

  • Hi,

are there any transport rules or data leak prevention policies in place? Those have been known to trigger such a behaviour.

  • Hi Evgenij,

Yes, there is some simple transport rules work on inbound emails.

    No data leak prevention rule.

  • OK. Let us see if we have a problem on the SMTP side of things.

Can you successfully send a mail

    • to an internal user
    • from an Exchange server
    • using Telnet
    • and the from address you specified in the script, like
    helo mydomain.com
    mail from:fromuser@mydomain.com
    rcpt to:newuser@mydomain.com
    Subject:TEST using raw SMTP
Some line - will appear in the body
    .
    ?

  • Maybe I missunderstand you... My Exchange server is in production so yes I can send an email :

    • to an internal user
    • from my Exchange server
    • using Telnet
    • and from the email address I specified in my script

As you proposed, I tested with this commands :

    helo myExhangeServer
    mail from:mySenderEmailAddress
    rcpt to:myEmailAddress
    data
    subject:Test

    Email body.
    .

I received email, but without my recipient address in the field "To".

  • OK so this seems to work.

Anything related to your welcome message in

    1. Message Trachking Log

    2. SMTP Protocol log?

  • I found anything in "TransportRoles\Logs\FrontEnd\ProtocolLog\SmtpSend" :

    2016-06-15T08:26:18.889Z,>,DATA,
2016-06-15T08:26:18.889Z,<,354 Start mail input; end with <CRLF>.<CRLF>,
    2016-06-15T08:26:18.936Z,<,554 5.6.0 Invalid message content,
    2016-06-15T08:26:18.936Z,>,QUIT,
This is the error shown in ECP when I try to create or activate a mailbox.

  • OK so it says invalid content BEFORE it accepts the message for delivery. This would rule out transport agents and policies.

I will think about it some more and get back here.
