Windows 7 Embedded (6.1.7601) - No USB Audio driver found RRS feed

  • Question

  • Background

We have different versions of Windows 7 (Professional and Embedded) on the same hardware configuration across multiple devices and we are required to have Windows Updates disabled.

    Objective

Play sounds over a USB speaker

    Scenario

The speakers connected to a Windows 7 Professional installation seem to detect the device automatically, and contains the correct drivers out of the box. Any sounds played are directed to the USB speakers once the correct device is selected from Playback Devices.

The same speakers when connected to Windows 7 Embedded detect a connected USB device but no compatible drivers are found in Device Manager and the USB speakers do not show up in the Playback Devices.

Is there a signed driver package which can be installed offline to enable the use of USB sound output on Windows 7 Embedded ?

Can someone please help me in resolving this issue ?

    Thanks

    SK

  • Are you using Windwos Embedded Standard 7 (WES7) or Windows 7 for Embedded systems? If WES7, WES7 is built from selectable packages, and you might be missing an inbox driver package.
