Configuring Receive location of BizTalk exposed Web service hosted in remote IIS Server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I would like to find if there is anyway that we can configure our BizTalk Receive location to Orchestration Exposed Web service that is hosted in remote IIS Server.

My assumption is, Receive location can listen to the Service through Isolated Host . Generally, this Isolated Host corresponds to the local Server that we setup during BizTalk Installation/Configuration. Is it possible for the Isolated Host to listen to Web Service hosted in any other Remote IIS Server?

Or is it possible to create additional Isolated Host that corresponds to different Server other than the Server in which BizTalk is installed in?

Answers

  • No the IIS exposing your BizTalk Receive Locations MUST be local.

You can however use reverse-proxy etc. to relay your call from other IIS, or maybe even look into the Windows Azure Service Bus Relay options, which are configurable from the WCF Wizard.
