  • Hi, Hristo

Actually, you have posted in the right place! In order to use your app on Excel Web on a SharePoint site, there are several steps to follow:

    1. Create an app catalog on your SharePoint tenant.

    2. Insert the app in an Excel workbook (desktop Excel).

    3. Save the document to SharePoint (or SkyDrive)

Then when you open the document from your browser, your content app will be in the document.

Let me know if you have other questions!

  • Hi Michael,

Thank you for your reply, we tried this, but we get the message:

"App Warning This app is not available in the Excel Web App. Open this document in Excel to use the app"

         Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

  • I have a content app that runs fine in Excel 2013, but when I open it in the Excel Web App, i get the message:

"App Warning This app is not available in the Excel Web App. Open this document in Excel to use the app"

Are there limitations of what is allowed in the Excel Web App as opposed to Excel 2013? Is there any documentation on this?

    Thanks!

  • 1. step1: deployed app to your SharePoint catalog.

    2. step2: sign in your office client with the same sharepoint org id.

    3. step3: add the app catalog url to office trust center.

    4. step4: add app to your excel file, make sure it works fine.

    5. step5: save the file to your sharepoint. or you can navigate to site content->document libary, and upload your file.

    6. step6: open the file.

    now it may works.
