Problem with 64-bit MS Word RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have developed an MS Office addin using visual studio 2010. It uses Open Office 3.4 SDKs to convert .ODT files into .DOCX. It is working perfectly fine with 32-bit MS W0rd. But in 64-bit MS Word at OnCommand when section of code.

    unoidl.com.sun.star.uno.XComponentContext xLocalContext = uno.util.Bo.otstrap.bootstrap();

    This OnAction command completely gets disabled (even if I put try and catch block or put a messageBox before that above line, nothing works). Since I don't have visual studio in that PC. So when I went to event viewer, this is the message I saw

    Can someone help me in resolving this issue?

    Thanks in Advance

  • If it's not compatible, it's not compatible. If the lack of compatability was ignored, data corruption and other software crashes are the potential result.

  • Microsoft recommends against using Word in 64-bit mode if you need to use 32-bit addins, as many are not compatible with the 64-bit mode. Your addin and/or the Open Office 3.4 SDK appears to be incompatible with 64-bit Word.

    My Addin is 64-bit so is its installer. Maybe the Open Office SDK that I am using is 32-bit. But is there any way in which word does'nt reject it?
