Any Advice on How to Port a Large Lightswitch Silverlight App to WPF? RRS feed

  • Question

  • We were very excited when MS released Lightswitch (Silverlight) and, after using it successfully for a few small projects, decided to use it for a large application.

It has worked quite well for the large application but, given that MS has abandoned Silverlight and appears to be abandoning Lightswitch, we have decided to port the large project to a new platform.

WPF still seems to be alive (fingers crossed) and so we're thinking of porting the application to WPF (with a MVVM design model).

Have others done this? Any advice for us?

  • HI leafnumber2,

    Welcome to Lightswitch forum.

LightSwitch isn't just about building Silverlight apps. In fact, you'll see with the release of the HTML Client that Microsoft are very focused on mobile/HTML5 (and SharePoint) scenarios.

To understand Lightswitch better, you can refer to latest Lightswitch article: Understanding LightSwitch

    Best regards,
