Bower - no version intellisense

    Question

  • Hi,

    I've been researching and attempting to fix the bower version intellisense issue in Win10 Visual Studio, Update 3.  I installed git and had it referenced in studio, as per article http://stackoverflow.com/questions/28725727/vs-2015-bower-does-not-work-behind-firewall#

    package.json (npm) intellisense works in studio, so it doesn't seem like a firewall issue.  Everything worked perfectly up to this upgrade.  If any one has any suggestions, please advice.

    Did you mean the intellisense does not work in package.json file?

    I did a test in my side and the behavior is same to yours. The Intellisense didn't work in package.json file. I think this is by design in VS2015 Update3.

    If I misunderstood your issue, please feel free to let me know.

  • Hi Lake,

    Actually, the intellisense is working perfectly well in package.json file. The bower.json doesn't provide version intellisense like it used to; however, it does download package if you type in the version.

    Best Regards.

  • Hi Sofling,

    Thanks for your response.

    >>The bower.json doesn't provide version intellisense like it used to;

    The version intellisense doesn't work in package.json file in my VS2015 Update3 as well. And for this version intellisense problem. I think we could log as an issue to the Microsoft Connect feedback portal.

    http://connect.microsoft.com

    Microsoft engineers will evaluate them.

    Best Regards,
