just need quick answer RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm not a developer so do I need any of the .net framework.
I am trying to make room on my computer and I have 1.1, 2., and 3.
Are they necessary to access my home network? Or are they just taking up space.
I don't even have a website and don't connect to any business networks.

In my opinion, your answer is based on your Windows version.

You know, if you are using Windows XP, and supposed the situation is that you totally don’t need any .NET Framework to run any software on your machine, I think you could uninstall them.   Or if you are using Windows Server 2003, I think .NET Framework 1.1 is included in the operation system itself as a component, so it is not recommended to uninstall .NET Framework 1.1 in Windows Server 2003.   Also, if you are using Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008, then the operation system contains .NET Framework 2.0 and 3.0 as its components here, thus, we also not recommended uninstalling them.  Otherwise maybe some corruption will be created or some operation functions will be affected.

And whatever Windows you are using now, this cleanup tool is designed to uninstall .NET Frameworks installed in your computer, and you could follow the introductions and uninstall the corresponding .NET Framework you want to clean up.

If you have any more questions, please just let me know.
