Access 2010 / Azure and slow speed for pulling records in data entry screen RRS feed

  • Question

  • Ok, I am not a techie so a lot of the jargon in these forums is above my head.  I was able to successfully convert my database so the data is in Windows Azure.   I have about 20 locations writing and pulling data from an Access 2010 front end.

Writing data to the tables is easy and quick.

Running queries with wide data ranges returns the data relatively quickly into my reports.

My problem is with the slow speed of searching for one record (by say last name or phone number).  some records take upwards of 2 minutes to search for.  My personal machine is the fastest and i've never had to wait for more than 10 seconds to find a record.

My database doesn't have more than 10K records yet.  Some computers are slower than others.  data connection speed in all locations is relatively the same.  all of the computers are new with Windows 7.

Can I locally create a cache on each machine that will speed a record by record search?

Is there a third party service i can use to speed the record pull?
