Import data from SSMS into a Cosmos Db RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there a way I can import data from SSMS, a tool I'm familiar with, into a Cosmos Db?  the only tool I've found is Documentdb Data Migration Tool

    Thanks.

  • Hi Moondaddy,

The SSMS client will not connect to a Cosmos DB instance. The Azure Cosmos DB DMT is the equivalent tool  for accomplishing much of the same tasks. The tool works in a graphical mode (Dtui.exe) as well as a CLI (Dt.exe) mode. It supports multiple data sources and file formats that are relevant to Cosmos DB, and not necessarily to SQL Server.

Azure Cosmos DB: Data migration tool

If you are running the MongoDB API for Cosmos DB, there is the Robo Mongo client:  https://robomongo.org/

Please let me know if you require additional information. Regards, Mike
