Windows 8 is a Touch Only Operating System Right Now..... RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • The biggest complaint so far from a lot of users is the Metro Start Screen catering to touch only. Not only is that a problem, but for long time Tablet PC users using a stylus also get the short end of the stick. It seems that the TIP has been revamped for touch, and stylus loses more use out of it. TIP loses the ability to do character by character input, also it lacks the ability to expand when reaching near the end of the 2 lines provided. This hampers longer input for stylus users. Not to mention, the still lacking left hand scroll bars for left handed users using a stylus only device. So far keyboard and mouse have been the complaint, but it's amazing how crappy the stylus experience is on this. There is still a long way to go for a better OS for all input modes, and this isn't it. The only things that I have liked about this are the smoother transitions between doing tasks and the smoother touch. I have an HP tm2t, so I'm able to test all modes of inputs, and touch is the only thing that this OS has been good at accepting, everything else has been placed beyond 2nd thought....
