I can't check in and save sharepoint documents RRS feed

  • I can check out documents (excel, word, Powerpoint) but they all come up as "read only". I've gotten sharepiont administrators involved, and my IT department and spent several hours, all to no avail.
    So, since it is read only, when I hit the x, it should allow me to save and check in, but all it allows me to do is save to my local hard drive. I get an error that it lost track of the folder.  I had somone else in my company use my authentication, userid and password (domain ) and it worked fine for them.
    Help!

  • Typically because you either have no copy of the appropriate Office product on your client or you have the wrong version.

    (Another possibility is that you aren't running a current Operating System on that client)

    Please give us both Office and OS details for the client you are using.
