Vista upgrade RRS feed

  • Question

  • I will be upgrading from XP MCE 2005 to Vista home premium and am wondering if there will be any problems with VB Express after the upgrade . For one thing I have been looking at directshow and hear it may not work after the upgrade .

  • Hi bdbodger,

I suggest you to install the Visual Basic 2005 Express Edition SP1, you can download it here: Microsoft® Visual Studio® 2005 Express Editions Service Pack 1.

The DirectShow is a part of the Windows SDK, this does no nothing to do with the Visual Basic Express Editions.

If you encounter any problem in your future development, please feel free to let us know.

  • Thanks I am fairly sure that the sp1 for VBE is installed already as part of an automatic update . This is a bit off topic for this forum but if I do an upgrade with my copy of vista ( it is a full version ) will I be able to put my copy of XP on another computer . I have heard that when you do an upgrade it nullifies the XP product key and it can no longer be activated .
