Set User Agent of Outgoing Request of WCF service RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We have a WCF service in which one the function is to update a SharePoint list. The WCF service is installed on a non SharePoint farm.

We are accessing the list using SharePoint client object model. The web service is being consumed by a different application, which is again installed on a non SharePoint farm.

What we need is to set a custom user agent to the request going to SharePoint in the WCF service (we need to set this so that SharePoint can identify the wcf call and have to do some settings against the user agent).

Please let us know if anyone has idea on how this can be achieved.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Neha

  • Hi,

The following post is to show how to add a UserAgent to a WCF call so that it can be inspected on the server side, perhaps to see which versions of clients are calling your service, please try to check it:
