Configuring trading partners sender and receiver RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a document that I want to send to multiple trading partners using the parties agreement in the Biztalk Server.

Does anyone know how to setup this type of configuration?

Should it be configured in the ISA 5 which is the sender ID qualifier? and ISA 7 which is the receiver ID qualifier ?

Or in the IS06 which is the sender identifier and the IS08 which is the receiver identifier?

    Thanks!

  • The thing is, routing to multiple destinations is not an EDI concept in BizTalk.

You would configure the routing of the message using BizTalk Publish/Subscribe, sending the message to as many Send Ports as partners to receive.

Then on the Send Port, the appropriate EDI encoding happens, including setting the Sender and Receiver ID's. At this point, the EDI system has not idea the message is going to multiple recipients.

  • Before attempting to setup any EDI scenarios, you should do all the BizTalk EDI Tutorials.  They will give you the best foundation to build the most appropriate solution.

For the scenario you describe, you would need at least one Party for your organization and one Party and Agreement for each of the receivers.

Since you're transmitting, ISA05/06 would be your Qualifier and Identifier. ISA07/08 would be the Qualifier and Identifier of each receiver.

  • But where do you configure the settings when you want to send a document to multiple partners? or to a partner that has multiple locations ?

    ISA 05 and ISA 07 ?

    or

    ISA 06 and ISA 08 ?
